Leading Web Agency launches £10,000 Innovation Award
A leading Digital Agency specialising in design, development and consultancy is launching a competition to find the next great idea for the web.
The Agency is offering an award of up to £10,000 in design, development and hosting through the Web Innovation Awards. The judges will review each idea using five criteria: innovation, value, engagement, realism and originality. Deep Blue Sky is looking for an original concept which breaks new ground, brings some kind of value to the wider world and the web community, is engaging and works in practice.

RED TAPE ‘SPAGETTI JUNCTION’ FOR BUSINESS ELECTRICITY AND GAS USERS
New rules intended to simplify electricity and gas contracts for businesses have created confusion and a ‘spaghetti junction of red tape’, according to business price comparison service Make It Cheaper.
From today (18.1.10) – following a two year investigation by Ofgem – two million businesses should be benefitting from greater consumer protection in relation to their electricity and gas contracts. However not only does each supplier have a different ‘interpretation’ of the new rules but they only have to apply them to business energy contracts entered into from today. Whilst one of the Big 6 suppliers has indicated that it will apply the rules retrospectively on all existing contracts, this still, leaves the vast majority of business energy customers at the mercy of their existing terms and conditions.

TWITTER BEATS YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK FOR ONLINE PR
Twitter is the most popular of the leading social community networks (SCNs) and interactive sites for online PR, according to a new survey of 107 PR professionals.
It narrowly beats YouTube, in second place, and Facebook, in third, as a preferred online PR tool. But the survey, conducted by New Venture Publishing for its new Perfect Online PR Masterclass, finds that no SCNs or interactive sites are yet rated as very important for PR use.
