Online editor Neil Cumins has left the Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre. Cumins left the title to concentrate on running his own copywriting agency, G75 Media. He will continue in a freelance capacity to write and edit the GSPC’s weekly Property Guide newspaper.   • Former BBC global news director Richard Sambrook is to join PR consultancy firm, Edelman. Peter Horrocks succeeds Sambrook at the BBC, combining the directorship of global news with his current role as director of the BBC World Service.
  • Absolute Radio has won the rights to broadcast Premier league matches on Saturday afternoons. From August, the station will air 32 matches at 3pm on Saturday afternoons. Absolute have the second of three match choices, with either the BBC or TalkSport likely to take the other two.
  • The Liverpool Daily Post has appointed a former editor to write a column in its latest revamp. Jane Wolstenholme left the paper in 2006 to start a PR firm but has returned to write a weekly column. The paper has also been given a new masthead, increased its story count and expanded the business section, and increased coverage of golf and rugby union.

    Guild Press has appointed Abbi Cox as junior features writer. Cox will be working on all four of Guild Press’ industry titles, Guild News, Tanning World, The Nail File and Irish Beauty magazine. Senior features writer Sarah Dolman has now left the company to pursue a new career.
